It’s ds’s birthday soon and I’m stumped! He’s no suggestions ( well, he has but his siblings are getting those for him.) He’s quite active, has a bike already and got a new scooter for Christmas. Likes science- got hot wires, science kit and microscope for Christmas though. Will get craft stuff from a sibling, and books (any suggestions welcome, he loves reading!) I need ideas for me and grandparents please!

Lego?
Art case?
Go-kart?
Remote control car?

He sounds similar to my 7 year old ds, he much prefer outdoors things . A super fast remote control monster truck went down really well. He doesn't play with toys as such but will build a Lego kit or sit for ages construction thugs from his craft box or drawing.

My almost 7 year old loves:

Craft - anything and everything. He’s sewed, knitted, used sun reactive materials to make patterned fabric, loves air drying clay, etc.

Pokemon - my dc all got a Nintendo Switch to share for Christmas, so he is now the world expert on Pokemon, and used his build a bear vouchers (again, Christmas) to get a Pikachu.

Lego - will potter for hours with bricks. Loves a pick and mix brick pot as much as an actual set, and has made all sorts of models.

Books wise he has recently started reading dick King Smith books and really loves them. Also a couple of Michael Morpurgo. And Roald Dahl. Also loves less worthy stuff like the Lego Star Wars books (the ones which are synopses of the films, also loves the Droid tales Lego films) and his Pokemon encyclopaedia.

He’s just started really loving quizzes, and a surprise hit from Christmas was the top trumps Disney quiz game (there’s also an animal facts one) which he and his sister play often.
