Hot tub cinema!

So, a hot tub cinema event has just appeared in my Facebook feed, because someone I thought I knew is interested in going!

Why? What fresh hell is this? Sitting in a lukewarm tub in a field full of strangers also in a lukewarm tub watching cult films. Barbecues and craft beers and performers - a festival in the bath!

Who in their right mind thought this was a good idea? And apart from my (soon to be ex) friend would go to this?!!Definitely not one for me!

You aren't supposed to stay in a hit tub for that long, the guidelines when you hire one are normally 30 odd minutes so I don't understand how you'd watch the whole film.

Apart from that, if it was full of my friends and family I'd enjoy, but not a mixed one with strangers.

I saw something similar and thought wtf! Def not something I would do, but then I dont see the attraction of the cinema drive in either!

Saw this today for one in Birmingham, I wonder is it real, the picture didn't appeal to me I have to say. I've seen people attend events on Facebook that sound amazing but don't actually ever happen

Sounds awful. Hate the thought of public hot tubs full of sperm and sweat.

As a cinema manager I'm slightly horrified by this! I dread to think of the clean up

I saw this advertised, and thought the same as you OP.

I mean, I can sort of see the appeal of a hot tub in your own garden / in a holiday let, but going to freeze outside somewhere without immediate access to your house to change in, amidst hundreds of people you don't know.

Multiple hot tubs would take a hell of a long time to fill. And what's the deal with the water afterwards? It would cause a flood!

Awful idea. Says someone who has sat in the film sauna in a spa near Rotterdam (50C sauna).

@ComeMonday it's fun mostly! My cinema is a smaller boutique kinda place rather than a big multiplex so it's a lot calmer!
I've seen most things as me and the other manager are also projectionists so we do all the tech stuff too which is pretty awesome. Aside from that it's your regular bar and food service type job so has its highs and lows haha

Swingers! 🤣 There is something very odd about the type of people that like hot tubs.
