DS will be 10 next week and I have no idea for birthday presents

I'm normally so organised but this year I have no inspiration and he doesn't seem to know what to ask for.

His 2 past times are the Playstation and football and all that is more than covered. He does love animals and a couple of years ago he had an amazing Zoo Keeper for the Day experience at Drusilla's which he loved. I'm wondering about other "experiences" but not sure what (we've already done a tour of his favourite football team' stadium)

Part of me thinks he's very lucky if he has everything he wants/needs but every boy still deserves a birthday present. Help!

  • some V bucks
  • a £50 note always goes down well
  • new trainers
  • a football rebounder (decent one from Networld Sports)
  • tickets to a football match
  • tickets to a theatre show (sometthing like Tom Gates or Horrible Histories are on a the moment in some places)
  • an annual pass for somewhere (zoo, science museum)
  • a game for the PS
  • gift voucher for Game Store

Am trying to step away from gaming-related gifts if I can. An annual pass for somewhere is a good idea.

Books? Roy of the Rovers (was a kids comic when I was a kid) has been relaunched with new books if he doesn't read normally and football might help. Not sure if these are comics or text books though actually.

If he does like books then latest favourite in a series?

Board games? There are some pretty cool ones out there now and co-op style ones for kids who hate losing :D
