Cash left in atm

I'm such a Doofus....Just went to get cash from Sainsburys cashpoint,and walked off without my cashThere was nobody about and I assume the screen came down
Does anyone know what would happen to my money,assuming no one took it
Will it be refunded to my HSBC account? Luckily my PIP was credited today

I've been told that the cash goes back into the machine if it's not been taken out in a certain time and re-credited to your account. But that might be hearsay.

Call the bank. I think it’s a 30 second window before the machine takes it back in.

I’ve done this! It went back in the machine and was credited back within 2 days, hopefully it’s the same.

Def call them to check though, if someone has come along and taken it they may have CCTV, it's theft

I did this last year. I phoned the bank as soon as I realised and I got a text a few days later to say that my account had been credited.

If no one has taken it, the cash goes back in after a few seconds.

This is registered and the cash will be returned to you after the cash point machine has been balanced as there will be excess cash due to the non collection.

Yes I’ve done this and it was recredited to my bank. There is a very short time period for you take it before it swallows it back, literally seconds I think.

I did this once when distracted by DC. They money was credited back to my account.

Thank you all for your reassuring replies,I managed to get through to the HSBC call centre and they could already see the transaction He noted something on my account and the money will be recredited within 48 hours,allowing for weekend I guess

If no one took it, the machine should take it back in a d it will appear back in your account. Happened to me a few months ago with 20. I was texting while using the bank. Just forgot to take it out. Thought I had lost it in the street, a few days later it was in as a refund or something.

DP did this and the fucker behind him took the £200 and did a runner.

He didn't get the money back, despite there being cctv (it was too unclear apparently).

This was also a Sainsburys cashpoint.
