Manchester rush hour advice

Could anyone please tell me, how long it’s likely to take to get through Manchester morning rush hour traffic? Coming from the North, M62 to Manchester Royal Children’s Hospital on Oxford Road? Trying to work out when to set off & dreading driving in 40mph winds!! Thanks

Quite a while. I've done Huddersfield to Trafford centre before and that's taken close to 2 hours. Some days less, others more. Really hard to predict unfortunately. Any chance you could get the train instead?

The bad traffic bits are particularly from junction 19 of the m62 until you get on the m60 and then various M60 bits, particularly around junction 12/ M602. Once on the 602 it's ok until Eccles but there's then road works all the way in to the centre and the A57M can be standstill.

Weeks.... and oxford road is a bus only road so you have to go in a funny way.
Is there no way you can get public transport or park up in Bury and get the tram or Stalybridge and get the train the rest of the way?

Thanks all. I didn’t dare get the train, though that was the initial plan, but they were predicting disruptions due to high winds. It wasn’t too bad in the end.
