Money is no object. You have a whole room to yourself, maybe even a warm shed. No one else is allowed in. What do you do with it?

I would set up a sewing room. Lots of lovely fabrics on organised shelves. A wine fridge. A well set up sewing table, radio 4 playing in the background. No children whinging at me.

Bloody great squashy sofa. Big furry blanket. Loads of books. Kettle. Massive tv. iPad and super zoomy internet. Big lock on door to keep kids out.

1happyhippie · 07/02/2019 22:14

Oohhh, mine would have books, a round bed in the middle (don't know why but I've always wanted one), a real fire, radio and my dog. It will be situated at the bottom of the garden. A log cabin type thing.
I would have a secret knock if people needed me, which I propably wouldnt answer anyway! 😂😂😂

GrumpyOldMare · 07/02/2019 22:14

A library, with a log fire, comfy chair with a foot stool,a squashy, deep settee with millions of cushions and a warm blanket, and a cat. There will be candles and lamps dotted about, with deep pile rugs on the floor and pictures of my favourite spots in Somerset on the walls. No tv,no radio,no phone allowed.

bookmum08 · 07/02/2019 22:15

Lego room combined with library with a craft corner. Comfy sofa/day bed with snuggly blankets and pillows.

mineofuselessinformation · 07/02/2019 22:29

Craft room for jewellery making, with space for yoga and a sofa big enough and comfy enough to lay down on for naps.
Complete with a wood fire / stove to keep it cosy.

BigStripeyBastard · 07/02/2019 22:35

These all sound amazing. I would actually love any of them.
Except the gym..... sorry Angela 😆

My vote is for the fully stocked sewing room with a space for orphaned kittens and poorly cats. HEAVEN!

MulticolourMophead · 07/02/2019 23:15

I'd have a craft room. Along with a cosy chair, decent laptop, a really good kettle, small fridge, tea, milk, etc etc. Maybe a TV, snacks, Nintendo DS.

All in pastel colours, good windows, light and airy.

And room for the drum kit Grin

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 07/02/2019 23:24

One wall would be a copy of Bridget Riley's Movement in Squares, facing the door so as to discombobulate visitors. It would be full height glass to the outside. The view would be over Ingleborough, or possibly Longdendale. It would contain a tripe monitor gaming rig, an Eames chair, and a scrubbed pine table. As it would be a golden section space with the short distance at 9 feet high, the wall opposite the Riley would be far enough away to avoid darkening it with the floor to ceiling bookcase.

Yutes · 07/02/2019 23:33

Play music and sing loud!

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 07/02/2019 23:34

Log fire. Roll top bath. Candles. Shelves full of books. Coffee machine. Wine fridge. Floor to ceiling glass doors to the garden. Snuggly armchair. Cat.

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 08/02/2019 00:26

Aaarrgghh!

I cant decide between yomellamoHelly's snoozing and tea drinking pod or DisgracetotheYChromosome's dream gaming shed.

All favourite activities of mine.

I also want a sewing shed with room for my dream button collection.

SapphireSeptember · 08/02/2019 00:37

Shelves and drawers for all my books, notebooks, make-up, and mugs, and all my Pusheens and other plushies displayed nicely so I can see their lovely little faces. I'd also have a display of my favourite/prettiest make up.
A drink making station for my hot chocolate/herbal teas.
Chocolate stash.
A decent sound system so I can listen to music.
And a big comfy chair and a desk so I can write/use my laptop.

PenguinPandas · 08/02/2019 00:50

I would have a swimming pool and jacuzzi and sauna and a lounger for me and cat. Cat would need chef to visit once a day with a big chicken.

YouCantTourniquetTheTaint · 08/02/2019 00:56

I'd have a gaming room, big tv, all available gaming consoles. Fridge, and a massive comfy beanbags.

AGnu · 08/02/2019 01:00

I'd soundproof it & turn it into a padded cell. Lots of beanbags, cushions & quilts & whatever music I fancied. Underfloor heating is a must.

I frequently fantasise about having a room like that. In my head it's rather womb-like & I'd retire there whenever the real world got a bit too much... So I'd basically live there. Might need to add a hatch for the pizza delivery person to post food in to me!

NumbersStation · 08/02/2019 01:01

I'd soundproof it.

And enjoy the silence.

And probably never come out again.

PerspicaciaTick · 08/02/2019 01:14

Mine would be a large room incorporating a library with comfy sofas and a space for my sewing machine and haberdashery collection. There would be buckets of natural light and it would ideally have large glass doors opening on to my garden.

MidniteScribbler · 08/02/2019 01:19

I have a grooming room which is my happy place. I go in there, turn the music on, and groom my dogs. I also have my craft room.

colouringinpro · 08/02/2019 01:33

I would have a very cosy room with a live-in amazing massage therapist Grin

colouringinpro · 08/02/2019 01:33

numbers Grin

I need a whole penthouse in a converted warehouse. Lots of rugs, cushions, blankets, cosy sofas, armchairs, big beds. It's built around a huge rooftop garden that is totally hidden and private.

In this garden is a guinea pig sanctuary. Staff come in every morning (while I am still in bed asleep!) to to feed and clean them out so all I need to do is cuddle them. There are large areas they can run about in and be completely safe from the outside world.

When I am not cuddling guinea pigs, I waft around from room to room and am totally undisturbed and at peace.

My bathroom has a huge, walk-in watefall shower. No one EVER enters this room except me (and the housekeeper).

A secret room houses a massive lego collection with a huge vintage town set up complete with train set Grin

TheMallard · 08/02/2019 06:42

It would have a lovely big window with thick curtains to cover it in the winter.

Books along 2 sides.

A big chair that I can curl up in and a foot stool so I can stretch out. A good standard lamp next to it. A snugly blanket.

A radio for listening to radio 4.

dudsville · 08/02/2019 07:09

greenelephantscarf · 08/02/2019 07:19

user1494055864 · 08/02/2019 09:54

I'd have a big model railway set! Complete with all the rolling hills, tunnels, miniature church buildings etc. !
