Do you have anxiety dreams about you pet(s)?

It’s a part of being a pet slave I didn’t anticipate! I’m used to the anxiety dreams about my DC going missing etc but didn’t think I’d get them about my guinea pigs!

I think I’ve had more dreams about them than my own children. Blush

Wolves, fire, a weird ferret/fox mutant, all sorts of fates befalling my poor piggies. It’s proper stressful, horrible dreams!

Is this just a normal part of pet life? I do love the little monsters massively, so much more than I’d have thought. They’re my first pets so that might add to the worry - never done this before!

Here's my boys, feel free to share your pet pics!

I need to know what that first picture is! Looks like a Pamela Anderson/Barbie combo Shock Shock

That’s my pretty princess piggy! Grin. I’ve no idea what breed of guinea pig he is - even people who’ve kept pigs for years have never seen one quite like him.

I know! I have hair envy! Which is a weird thing to say about a guinea pig. 😆

I dream about my deceased cat when I feel alone. I've this recurring dream in which he jumps onto my bed and snuggles up to me purring loudly.

I've only ever had this dream when I've either truly been or have felt alone. And I've always woken up feeling better and more optimistic.

I'm an atheist and a materialist but if I weren't I'd convince myself that it was his kitty spirit watching over me rather than a neurological coping mechanism of sorts.

Oh that’s so lovely, Taken (sorry for your loss though). I’m an atheist too but part of me definitely wants to think your cat is looking after you.

I have recurring nightmares where my dogs have disappeared and I spend all night looking for them, sometimes they are close but I can never quite reach them.

My dd was home for a few days from uni and was taking my precious pup (gorgeous fox terrier) for her usual walk around the fields. Cue nightmares about her being mugged by puppy thieves.

I've had a recurrent dream for about 15 years about my old cat. I dream that I'm walking around a city with busy traffic and can see him darting in and out of cars. I keep calling him and trying to catch up with him and I can't get to him.

He never got hit in RL, he died of old age.

I dream about my current cat too, that I can hear him but can't see him and that I'm running round the house following his meow trying to find him.

Weird.
