Morning Mexican stand offs

My DP isn’t pulling his weight around the house and the mornings are the worst as he knows that I can’t be late for work so I will do everything. I get up, get showered, give the cat breakfast, get the toddler ready for nursery. I often don’t have time for breakfast if the toddler is being wilful about getting dressed. my DP lies in bed until the last possible moment. We are currently in a Mexican stand off, I am sitting down just waiting for him to dress the baby for once. I will be at least twenty minutes late for work but I don’t know what else to do.

Get up have your breakfast and get ready yourself. Then hand him the baby and leave the house.

What @Somethingsmellsnice days. Just go and leave him to it.

I concur, leave him to take the toddler to nursery now and then.

Totally agree. Tomorrow morning, get up, have a shower, get dressed and head out. ( nip to Costas on the way to work for a well deserved Latte).

Yep as above get showere and dressed then walk away and leave him to parent HIS child.

DH and I used to take turns on mornings. On the childfree morning we each used to dash out of the house before anyone was awake to avoid getting dragged into helping. Both of us preferred getting up an hour earlier to get away scot free. Try that?
