Diabetes Test

Hi all,

I'm having my gestational diabetes test tomorrow and I'm really worried about it.

I'm not great with needles to start with and I'm not really used to going for so many hours without eating.

Can anybody who has had it done before please offer me some reassurance!? Sad

I did it. Was utterly dreading it and it was actually fine.

I felt a bit bleurgh later in the day but not too bad.

bluefpg · 07/02/2019 18:47

@Sexnotgender what was your outcome?

I'm hoping I'll be fine, I just hate needles and in the past when I've had blood tests on little food I've felt very faint

I didn’t have GD.

Please tell the phlebotomist that you feel faint with fasting blood tests, so they can be prepared, maybe even lie you down if they have a couch.
Hope you are ok.

@FadedRed yeah I will definitely, I hate needles so I'm dreading it Sad

bluefpg · 08/02/2019 18:50

Just felt a bit crappy for the rest of the day though Sad

Same as me. Got through the test then felt rough.

Any word on your results?

bluefpg · 08/02/2019 19:54

@Sexnotgender no, did you find out straight away?
