If I have dark blue walls

And white furniture (to try and make a hideous white fire surround offensive), brown sofa - what colour rug and curtains would look best? I'm hopeless at interior design, and just want my lounge to look as polished as my friends

I'd try and find patterned curtains that have the same shade of blue brown or white to tie it all together.

I think these rooms look pretty good.

Mustard or teal go lovely with dark blue. My bedroom is Stiffkey blue with white and mustard accents.

I have a similar set-up:

• dark rich blue walls (Hague Blue from F&B)
• v white wood and ceiling
• neutral sofa
• neutral tufts rug with black accent (its a gorgeous Moroccan style)
• simple white roman blind
• neutral cushions with black accents

My friend has rose gold accents with her (very) dark navy blue walls, it's beautiful. Sorry if that's not helpful..

I have a large sunset/ twilight picture on my wall. The walls are a darker shade of the colour of the sky. Accents are peachy pink and copper like other colours in the picture. It works.
Find a picture/ curtains/ a rug you love with the dark blue in. Pick out one or two of the other colours to use as accents.

I have another blue/ teal room. I found a rug with the exact shade in. It also contained red, so red accents tied that room together.

Some lovely ideas here, thank you! I have a lovely large copper standing floor lamp that I love, so will keep that, and maybe go for teal/neutral accessories. @bettyboo I didn't even think to google image search, many thanks!
