I want to buy a token gift for someone, I don’t actually know him well at all.

I don’t know if he has a computer or is into Fortnite etc.

What would be a good gift at this age?

Amazon vouchers. Or ask his parents if he has an Xbox / PS4 ad get vouchers for that.

Though my 11yr olds favourite gift at his recent birthday was a pocket / camping knife and a Bear Grylls survival kit! We haven’t used it yet but will take it when we go camping this summer.

Morgan12 · 07/02/2019 10:32

I'd find out if he has a PS4 or Xbox and get vouchers for that.

CormoranStrike · 07/02/2019 10:32

Parents not available to chat too right now.

Outdoorsy stuff might work

JD Sports or Amazon vouchers here...

BlueJag · 07/02/2019 10:57

Money it's the best gift. He can put it towards something bigger.

BearSoFair · 07/02/2019 11:01

Rubiks cube or something similar? DS1 got one when he was around that age, he's 16 now and still picks it up regularly, and has a added few other puzzle cubes since.

BastardGoDarkly · 07/02/2019 11:02

Amazon voucher. Can't go wrong.

WellTidy · 07/02/2019 11:03

Minecraft. So either a book with cheats/tips or something to wear with it on, a t-shirt maybe? M and S always seems to have loads.

A football. Or if a football fan, socks, water bottle or PJs in his favourite team. Amazon has loads.

DS still really like Lego.

Art supplies - some pastels maybe, or a pallet of watercolours and some watercolour paper.

Copy of The Beano.

Sweets.

goldengummybear · 07/02/2019 11:13

Something edible like chocolate.

OvO · 07/02/2019 11:16

Mines 11 and it’s all Fortnite, Schleich dinosaurs or knights, guns or puzzles.

So a small puzzle set or joke set would go down a treat, otherwise money would be preferred.

blueskiesovertheforest · 07/02/2019 11:22

The problem with this question is that it's as broad as "what do 31 year old women like?"

What's the best thing ever for one will be utterly irrelevant to another.

What's your budget? If it's under £10 just get chocolate! (Although if you really don't know him you don't know whether he's lactose intolerant or one of the rare children who genuinely doesn't like chocolate...).

goldengummybear · 07/02/2019 12:10

11 is a tricky age as 11 and in primary is different to 11 and in secondary too.

Northernsights · 07/02/2019 12:16

Fortnite, fifa, sport, Nerf, rubiks cube is a good idea. I'd buy either an amazon voucher or chocolate if it's token gift

shumway · 07/02/2019 12:21

Lego, nerf, sweets.

spiderlight · 07/02/2019 13:00

Mine likes Fortnite, Splatoon, Lego, Nerf guns, Rubik-type cubes (especially the more unusual ones, although he can't solve them), RC cars and his mini drone. Hasn't played Minecraft in several years and has just given away all his Minecraft stuff because it's 'dead' and 'babyish'.

Thanks all

I’d go for big bar of Galaxy and an Amazon voucher.

Threeminis · 07/02/2019 23:16

My ds loves the Ripley's believe it or not books.
He also really loved a box of puzzle things a bit like these

My 11 year old likes:
Girls
Clothes
Fortnite
Gaming PC
Xbox
Football
Cricket
Not necessarily in that order. Juat get an Amazon voucher and he can buy what he wants.
