Standing orders

Is there any reason I wouldn't receive a standing order from someone's account into mine first thing in the morning? I usually receive it around 2am, had nothing so far

If they’ve stopped it for any reason?

Lonecatwithkitten · 07/02/2019 08:25

It has failed due to lack of funds, they have cancelled it or it has expired ( it was set up to run to a certain date or a certain number of times).

Thank you, I am wondering if maybe it's just taking a few hours longer than usual, I hope so but I suspect I am not getting paid today Sad

Are you sure that it is sent by standing order and the sender doesn't just do the payment manually, in which case, it could arrive at any time today?

Or your bank or their bank could have been doing overnight maintenance and things are a bit behind?

Is the sender someone who you can ask about whether the money should have been sent?

I could ask but don't want to be a pest! Yes I think Halifax had overnight maintenance which may be affecting things!

It can come at any time. Perhaps the bank is having problems with its systems, perhaps your bank is having issues. I find standing orders normally occur in the early hours, abut it can be anytime during the day. Which banks are they? Tesco Bank can be funny about the time of the day its systems move money around.
