Just going through a really hard time and could do with a hand hold if anyone’s out there

It's a slog isn't it!? And six children must be hard work! Do they see their dad? Do you get any break?

pineapplebryanbrown · 07/02/2019 02:03

Lisa like you I'm very practical and stoic. However, sometimes I raise my head and take a good look at my life and think Holy Fuck! If i do that i literally cannot move off the sofa for the day. Btw i got my divorce on legal aid, maybe you would qualify. I'm too lazy to get up and make a milky drink! Someone needs to invent cocoa by PM. I gave up smoking 6 days ago and I am a miserable old cow bag.

MissLanesAmericanCousin · 07/02/2019 02:05

Hi Lisa, a hand hold and a hug. As my father always said, This too, shall pass

You're not alone

Etino mscandylamb was posting earlier about worrying about being a lonely single mum in S London. She's shy and pg and sounds like your group would suit her.

lisalisa · 07/02/2019 02:11

Thanks bitoffun I’ve replied
And Etino I can’t believe you remember that thread ! It’s donkeys years ago now isn’t it ? My ds is now 19!!!
That made me smile though and then cry again for thevsilly innocence of silly problems and the me who didn’t know what real problems were ...... give my right arm to go back in time to 10 years back
Dhal yes they do see him and he’s a good dad but very mucked up himself so dangerous - it’s like trying to steer a juggernaut through a narrow alley - it can suddenly career out of control and cause a lot of damage .
Thigh you made me smile thank you . wouldnt get legal aid as salary too high even though I can’t fimish the month and deeply in debt

Thank you misslanes - I remember the other bit of that saying - it may pass like a kidney stone but it will pass ..... (!!!)
I’ve got the painful bit right now

W0rriedMum · 07/02/2019 02:18

Hang in there, lady! The storm is awful - tiles rattling and setting me off to match - but 3 hours and the worst will have past.
I've no practical advice but as PP said, this too shall pass. Near enough kitchen to get a tea without waking the kids?

Etino · 07/02/2019 02:20

Flowers all!
Back in bed with hot milk. I’ll blame y’all for my furry teeth in the morning.

MissLanesAmericanCousin · 07/02/2019 02:25

lisalisa I know, I wish I had something better for you. Sad

I have some faux Cake and some faux Wine

At least there's no calories! Smile

You'll get there. I know you will. Have faith in yourself. Believe in yourself. The courage is within you. It's been there all along, I promise. Flowers

lisalisa · 07/02/2019 02:26

Good night OP, sweet dreams! Flowers

Sorry to hear (read) you are having such a shit time lisalisa.

I remember the thread about the pants and packed lunch too! And completely understand the wish to go back in time to silly problems like that. In a lot of ways those years parenting young children whilst often exhausting are so much easier.

Hope you manage to get some sleep. Everything always seems worse in the middle of the night.

The wind and rain woke me up and I’m now slightly anxious about flying to Dublin tomorrow! Hate flying when it’s windy. We are in a yellow weather warning area overnight (southwest) although it’s supposed to die down in the morning so should be ok for my flight.

I would love hot milk now but if I go downstairs I’ll wake the dogs.

MrsCatE · 07/02/2019 04:40

Hopefully you're now asleep, given you have to be up early. It really is a dark night for the soul - bonkers storm here!

Sorry you're having such a crap time @lisalisa. You sound like an amazing person but I completely understand how you need a real shoulder to cry on, someone to give you a warm cuddle and say 'there, there' - even if neither of you truly believe it! We are human and all need to be comforted. Virtual handhold and Flowers.
