How to catch a feral but owned cat !

Last night we saw a very thin cat in our food waste bin.
Today I saw a poster for a missing cat & recognised as the cat from last night.
We contacted the owners.
Today I found it in our shed but she managed to escape before I could close the door.
The owners have been round with her crate & treats but have said she is very skittish. They have had her since she was a kitten (6 years) & she is still aloof with them. Their little boys are v upset.
She actually escaped from the vets 2 doors away.
I’m desperate to reunite her with her family.
We are seeing her about every hour because we left some food out for her.
She’s been on the run for nearly a week.
Any capture ideas ?

Food in a special cage trap - I'm sure you could borrow one via PDSA/vet/RSPCA or similar.

This is the thing. You have to check frequently throughout the day so that the cat doesn't get stuck in it for a long period.

Thanks I’ll pop into the vets now & see if they can help

Ring your local cat charity, they often have traps that you can borrow for a day or two.
