Best cat repellent? Really fed up!

Moved in to our new home just over 3 weeks ago, every single day since we've moved in I've had to clean up cat shit from my front garden, front steps and back garden. It's been walked through the house once too it always seems to be diarrhoea for some reason
Anyway, I found out today the next door neighbour has 13 cats !!

I have 4 children and when summer comes I want them to be able to play in the garden without playing in cats shit and pee, one of the cats even walked straight in to my house and tried going up the stairs on the day we were moving our stuff in, yuk

Water gun? I'm not sure anything really consistently works

Jumping on board as we also have this issue, next door have 4 cats who seem to have chosen our back garden as their designated toilet!

Gardening programme on radio 4 suggested soaking tea bags in vicks then leaving them around the places you don’t want cats. Keep meaning to try it out. Just spent thousands on a new patio and woke up to a pile of shit right in the middle of my pristine slabs. Luckily it was quite solid and easily cleared up before DH could tread in it and spread it everywhere.
