Mild chicken pox?

I’m pretty sure my youngest has CP, its been doing the rounds at nursery for a few weeks and I noticed a spot yesterday, but just one. This morning there are a few more but not excessive, maybe 10 in total all over. He’s doesn’t seem to be suffering or bothered by them so I’m just wondering if he’s likely to get it again as it’s only a mild dose?

Sorry that posted too soon!
My mum says I had CP twice as a child and the NHS site says it is possible, my older child had it horrifically bad so I’m questioning whether this is really CP although I’m pretty sure!

Yes you can have it in a mild form. If my ds1 hadn’t had it so badly I wouldn’t have even noticed ds2 had it. I counted about 10 very small spots mainly on his stomach that suddenly appeared. He was a little under the weather but nothing that noticeable.

My DS had it in mild form at age 3, about 20 spots in total. He was itchy the first day and night but wasn't unwell in himself at all.

One of his friends who we spend a lot of time with had it recently and DS didn't catch it again.

You’ve both made me feel better!

I had visions of a beast of a dose of it later down the line! He’s still only got max 20 spots so I don’t think it’s goinh to get much worse as I think they’d have been out by now and he’s ok in himself. Total contrast to when my eldest had it, he was absolutely covered and so miserable with itSad

My second Ds had chicken pox when was 7 and he had 3 spots.
He is now 20 and has never had chicken pox again even though he has been around others with it.

My youngest caught a mild form and then about a week after it seemed to be clearing up, she got another dose which I'd have classed as more 'typical'

Quartz2208 · 06/02/2019 20:35

yes I had it mild when I was a child maybe 10 spots in total

But (and I hate to be the bearer of bad news) I got it as an adult aged 22 it was horrific - I did however catch it via my Mum who got it aged 49! The doctor said it was because I lived with her

My DC had v mild cp a few times, years apart. Only a few spots each time, but had the full grotty feeling each time.

marvellousnightforamooncup · 06/02/2019 20:39

Ds1 had two spots. Barely needed any Calpol either. I know he has immunity because he didn't get chickenpox when ds2 had it badly last summer. His blood was tested because he has another chronic condition and his meds mean cp is a serious problem if he gets it.

My mum swears I had it twice as a child, I’m not sure on the severity though.

We’re going away at half term so the timing is “good” I guess as long as we don’t have the same experience as TrueFriendsStabYouInTheFront !

It seems like there’s quite a few people who have experience of getting it twice.
