Not my circus; not my monkeys.

Look after number 1, because no-one else will.

Tomorrow's another day.

susiella · 05/02/2019 19:10

Knowledge is power

SilverySurfer · 05/02/2019 19:11

Never trouble worry until worry troubles you.

shecamefromgreece · 05/02/2019 19:13

I try and remember -you can't pour from an empty cup.

Ifangyow · 05/02/2019 19:13

See it, hear it, zip it.
In other words I see things, I hear things but I say nothing. Especially when it comes to other people's personal lives.

Disfordarkchocolate · 05/02/2019 19:15

Don't be a worrier, be a warrior. I am failing miserably at the moment. If not that 'hey ho'.

Peach1886 · 05/02/2019 19:17

You get what you settle for - from Thelma and Louise

jinglewithbellson · 05/02/2019 19:18

Treat others how you would like to be treated yourself.

Always be kind

I always ask my kids before they say something out loud tonthink
1-is it helpful
2-is it kind

My dads always said if you can't say anything nice don't say anything Grin

Riverside85 · 05/02/2019 19:22

It’ll be alright in the end. If it’s not alright, it’s not the end.

You can do anything, but you can’t do everything.

As a procrastinator, I like “if you can’t get out of it, get into it” mentioned upthread!

Strokethefurrywall · 05/02/2019 19:25

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't - you're right.

Liz38 · 05/02/2019 19:25

Control the controllable

Subtext is let go of the stuff you can't control.

I heard it at a sports training seminar and try to apply it much more generally!

Parthenope · 05/02/2019 19:29

Keep away from people who have 'Live. Laugh, Love' written on the wall of their kitchen.

nomoremrsniceguy · 05/02/2019 19:29

If not now, when?

RockysMa · 05/02/2019 19:32

What you give out, you get back

You reap just what you sow

Kindness is magic

Vargas · 05/02/2019 19:34

I'm not responsible for anyone else's happiness (apart from dc's)
BUT of course
Treat others as you would like to be treated by them

LadyOfTheCanyon · 05/02/2019 19:34

Oo another one from my Grandma, which I love.
" It's all the same a hundred years from now."
Really makes you stop stressing about everyday unimportant shit.

Dolceandgabbana14 · 05/02/2019 19:35

Be the kind of person you'd like to meet.

Everything happens for a reason.

Study yourself (don't worry about what everyone else is doing, just worry about your own affairs)

RockysMa · 05/02/2019 19:36

@HowlsMovingBungalow 🤣 just spat my tea out

Mugglywuggly · 05/02/2019 19:36

Little pickers wear big knickers Grin

Tequilamockinbird · 05/02/2019 19:37

If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit.

I've made a career out of doing just that Grin

storynanny · 05/02/2019 19:37

Everyone is different

PseuDenim · 05/02/2019 19:39

Be a radiator, not a drain

PseuDenim · 05/02/2019 19:39

And

Fake it till you make it

Sontagsleere · 05/02/2019 19:40

I have so many, but I like these:

Correct in yourself the faults you see in others,
And
If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got.
And
If it's for you, it won't go by you.....

As well as this, told to me by a German on the Camino: people come into your life for a season, a reason or a lifetime!

My grandmother was super witty and they were always tripping off her tongue - I could go on but had better stop!

MorrisZapp · 05/02/2019 19:42

It's all made in the same factory.
