Naming company please help

I am starting a dog waking company. I will
also offer home visits and cat care but the mainstay will be Dog waking.

I am struggling and procrastinating like crazy over a name. Please help me wise mumsnetters!

I think something simple and memorable would be great. I had hoped for something nature based, but need to avoid tree names to avoid clashing with another local company.

I love 'purple pets' and 'plum paws', I thought these were catchy and would be great for logos and sign writing, but these names are taken- as are 'blue paws', and 'green paws'.

I thought about maybe 'brown paw' what do people think of that? Or maybe 'outdoor paw'? Or 'twig and puddle'.

Collars and leads
Muddy paws
Come here boy (not sure about this one now)
Creature comforts
Walkies

Thanks so much 6demanding.

All your suggestions are taken unfortunately. I particularly love muddy paws, but there are several companies with that name and domains are taken too.

Sticks & Bones
Red Rovers
Puddle Paws

startingafresh1 · 05/02/2019 10:50

Thank you- do you dislike my ideas of:
Brown paw
Outdoor paw
Twig and puddle?

BoldComicSans · 05/02/2019 10:52

I like brown paw.

Izzy24 · 05/02/2019 10:52

Brown paw is a bit off-putting.

Makes me think of poo-paws.

Sorry!

Nightlights · 05/02/2019 10:52

No they're good though, with the exception of Outdoor Paw, it might not be clear what the business is. Not keen on 'brown paw' as it sounds like something you might have to clean up Smile

startingafresh1 · 05/02/2019 10:54

Hmm yes I guess 'brown paw' could be a bit poo related! I liked the idea of branding using a brown paw..... Need to rethink that one.

Outdoor paw is still a contender!

More paws?

FrontRowSeat · 05/02/2019 12:17

There’s one near me called Salty Seadogs - always makes me smile (we are by the coast however)

startingafresh1 · 05/02/2019 12:25

Frontrow that's brilliant! I'm nowhere near the coast though!

Oh dear, I'm failing at the first hurdle!

I quite like Twig & Puddle, gives an image of hearty country walks Grin You could still use a brown paw as the image.

MWNA · 05/02/2019 12:56

Thank you- do you dislike my ideas of:
Brown paw
Outdoor paw
Twig and puddle?

Not dislike as such but they sound a bit odd in the singular. The other suggestions are in the plural and sound better for it I think.

BitOutOfPractice · 05/02/2019 15:54

If you want people to be able to find you on google, include your town name and say clearly in the name what you do.

Not as cute as the suggestions here, but much better for business.

If I were looking for a dog walker I would google "mytown dog walker"

Good luck with your new venture

monal · 05/02/2019 16:04

I like Twig & Puddle. Or Stick and Puddle?

ProfessionallyUnoffended · 05/02/2019 16:05

Paw print
Or name of place with a word starting with the same letter eg Weymouth walks, Surrey strolls?

Seeleyboo · 05/02/2019 17:32

Waggy tail walkies

Notwiththeseknees · 05/02/2019 17:37

Happy Hounds
Dog Days
Puddy Paws
Run & Jump

startingafresh1 · 05/02/2019 22:27

Thank you for all the great suggestions. I'm Leaning towards outofpractice's suggestion of going with my local village or town name though. Maybe not very interesting, but sounds professional and may help with google searches.

BitOutOfPractice · 06/02/2019 07:38

What letter does it begin with op

DianaT1969 · 06/02/2019 07:49

If you go with 'town name dog walking' you could use a strapline in all your marketing - something that you love, but is already taken in domain names.
'Town name dog walking'
4 happy paws

'Town name dog walking'
Personalised pet care

totallyliterally · 06/02/2019 07:51

Go for something unique. If you want to be found on Facebook or google don't use anything obviously.

I love the twig and puddle or something like that.

Using location name is fine as long as no one else has similar.

labazsisgoingmad · 06/02/2019 08:16

we run a company doing the same walking pop in feeding and home sitting we wanted some thing plain and explanatory so named ours
(name of town we are in) dog walking and pet care services
show what we do without confusion

startingafresh1 · 06/02/2019 09:26

Thanks again for all your help.

Village begins with Ba

Town Lo

General area Ch (smaller area than the town)
