Valentine's Day Ideas

I need your help mumsnetters!

My partner isn't the outwardly/ publicly soppy type but in private he's a very sweet and can be romantic in his own way.

For various reasons we've had a bit of a shit time of it lately. It's brought us even closer together and I'm really proud of how our relationship is always our rock. I love him with everything I have and I'm smiling just thinking about him now (even though he's laying about 10cm away!).

He's not a huge fan of all the hype of Valentine's day and isn't bothered about cards etc but I really want to do something original for him next week to show my appreciation of his love and support over the last few months.

I cook most nights so that's not a treat. He's pretty geeky and plays pc games and warhammer.

Any ideas on either a present or an event (we live in Leeds) that isn't typically Valentine's esk but has the right sentiment?

TIA

Have you heard of Cards or Die? It's a board game business run by a fab woman called Ann who runs lots of events in Leeds. My favourite is Sunday's at Hyde Park Book Club - really fun and chilled (good food too!), it's on from 2-7pm. I know it's not Valentines day this Sunday, but it could be a pre-valentines treat? I don't think she's got an actual event organised for the 14th!

My husband is a similar type. I am going to create a romantic slideshow with our photos and music and post on his facebook page. He'll have to react sentimentally... how crafty am I? :D
