What’s wrong with my washer/dryer?

Gah, 2 months after the warranty runs out. Typical.

It’s not been drying very effectively, but otherwise fine. I haven’t cleaned the front filter for ages so drained that. A moderate amount of water came out. I looked at the book which says you need to drain both parts, check that the back part spins and there’s no foreign bodies (coins etc.) in there. It does and there aren’t. All good, I put it back together.

I put a load on and there is water on the kitchen floor. I’ve put the stopper in the hose properly and screwed the stopper on as tight as it goes.

So, why is it flooding now? What did I do?

Any help very gratefully accepted!

Google the make and model and instructions and you should be able to trouble shoot from there.

Probably cross threaded the filter as you screwed it back in, or just not tightened it enough.

Or have you pulled the drain pipe out when you moved it?

Thanks. Sorry, I couldn’t get back on until now. I had the instruction book out yesterday, but it told me just to clean the front filter. I did. I tightened it as far as it goes (it clicks in when done correctly).

I completely drained it yesterday and left it unplugged. This morning there was more water on the floor, so I drained it again and quite a lot more water came out.

Dh, who is away, thinks maybe it’s the drains blocked. A neighbour has mentioned she has had problems recently.
