What lovely duvet and pillows should I get??

We have just bought our very own new bed and mattress which is arriving on Friday, in king-size so we need new sheets/duvet/duvet cover and I would like some new pillows too.

I want my bed to feel like I'm lying on a cloud, with a lovely quality duvet and my Wilkos basic double duvet will not cut it anymore.

I've looked on the Tkmaxx website and they have some bargains but I don't know what type of duvet to get, what thread count sheets to get etc.

This feels like my first grown up bed as the last bed and mattress we had were both second hand (I know, gross but we were very very poor) and my sheets and duvet covers are all quite cheap ones.

I want to treat myself to a bit of luxury. Any recommendations? (that aren't hideously expensive?) Grin

John Lewis! It washes really well, feels lovely and I felt like “a proper grown up” buying it. I actually wanted something expensive and had never spent that much on bedding before, but I thought it was worth it - even better if you get it in the sales!

Wool duvet from Baavet, love mine.
If you're looking for a good deal they have a bargain section where the duvets with minor faults are reduced, it does change regularly so keep an eye on it. I can't actually find the supposed mark on mine.

100% organic cotton sheets in lidl at the moment. Very reasonable price.

Love linen from Cologne and Cotton.

My favourite duvet was from Selfridges.

Sainsburys do a 400 tc Egyptian cotton range for sheets and pillowcases, which are lovely and not too expensive. They get softer with every wash.

I believe - having listened to Kirsty Alsopp that the pure cotton sheets and bedding from Matalan are the best quality per thread count / price . So , if she is right , no need to spend a fortune. Otherwise and what I do , John Lewis.
