Be honest ... are there any genuinely delicious things I can make with red lentils?

I've got a glut of them and I don't really know why, or what to make.

I use puy or green lentils in soups and salads. Red lentils just make gritty mush don't they?

Lovely recipes. Anything with lentils and coconut milk is divine.

Agree with pp, "daily dhal" from the made in India book is fabulous

I prefer to add extra spices and cook the lentils separately with stock for under 10 mins. Then I mix with the fried onions and spices. My children love it!

This is the Turkish red lentil soup. Quite a nice little story about how it got its name. If you make it you need the really finely ground bulgur wheat - if you use the cracked bulgur for salad you end up with a huge pan of risotto-like gloop. Still tasty, but not a soup. english.turkishcookbook.com/2006/10/red-lentil-and-mint-soup.html?m=1

A lentil loaf recipe

I used some quaker oats instead of eggs to make a firm loaf.

Dahl
Dahl soup
Sorry... I’d live on both of I could and don’t really use lentils for much else (apart for veg soup)

Simple dahl and rice = comfort food.
With the right flavours and consistency, not much beats it for me😀
Use turmeric, a little bit of chilli powder and garlic masala for the dahl, garnish with fried garlic, lots of coriander and plenty of lemon juice.
