Why is his neck cracking?

My DH's neck keeps cracking when he turns it from side to side. If he turns it to one side it cracks audibly twice. And when he turns it to the other side it cracks once, it less audibly.
He says it doesn't hurt, but it's been doing it since yesterday morning. Any ideas what it is? And do I need to be worried?

I don't have an answer as to why it's cracking but mine has done this for over twenty years now!

@Linglelong that kinda helps! It's not an answer, but equally it doesn't seem to indicate imminent danger!

My back will do it, was told it was air pockets between the vertebrae or something 🤷🏻‍♀️ Fuck knows but I’m still alive and walking and it’s been doing it for over half my life 😂

My DH clicks a lot, it sometimes wakes me up in the night. But as long as it isn’t causing him any discomfort I can’t imagine it’s something to worry about

It's weird because it's not the usual type of cracking. You know where you twist is cracks but if you try again it doesn't do it again because the air pocket is gone.

In this case it cracks every time, so seems different. I'm not particularly worried, but he is stressing, which is unlike him.
