If you wake up early to do exercise, are you a morning person?

Because that's my excuse at the moment. You're obviously morning people. I just don't seem to be able to get up unless I have to! I booked a class yesterday morning which meant I had to be up by 7.45 but couldn't do it! I actually woke up at 3am and cancelled the class. I never usually wake in the night but my body obviously subconsciously knew I needed to cancel the class!
I fit in exercise at other times but it would be such an efficient way to get it done! It's just sheer willpower isn't it?!

I started getting up at 6 to run when it was so hot in the summer, it was beautiful watching the sun come up and really did brighten my days.

Winter- driving sleet, wind, rain, icy pavements, in the dark. Not so much fun.

But yes, I am a morning person. I don't lie in, I'd prefer to get up and start the day, but then I do need to go to bed earlier than Dh and so I end up exhausted from early starts and late nights.

I never exercise first thing in the morning. It makes me feel quite jittery.

I like running and exercise classes that start about six pm. Not too late, so you're home for supper and time to flop on the sofa. But I only do classes I really like, so it's not hard to leave the house in the dark.

Otherwise I like lunchtime-ish classes.

I hate early mornings generally. I work for myself, from home, so it's my call. Sometimes I work at night to make up time. But I've come to the conclusion that fighting your body clock doesn't do you much good.

@Mmmmbrekkie, very similar distances and speed to me, totally understand the whooping too! I don't tend to eat before the shorter ones. Anything over 10k I would probably.

Wow, wasn't expecting so many more responses! I know getting up at 7.45 isn't particularly early but I get up at 6.20 Monday to Friday so want a break from it! I actually wouldn't feel safe running in my area at 6-7 in the morning so that's a no no. I'm torn from the replies thinking yes, just do it and don't try to fight my body clock. I actually don't mind exercising in the evening but it would be more convenient to do it early at the weekend.

I only get up early because I have to get the kids to school. Then I go for a run in the park beside the school. Otherwise I wouldn’t go for a run. I only run 2 or 3 mornings as I am in college the other 2 or 3.
