God help me, I will burn this house down. I’ve found a MAGGOT!!

Oh god I feel sick.

I’ve just found a single maggot on my sons carpet. There is no damp, there is no sign of any more - what do I do??? Where is it from?!

He has a pet snake, could it have been in the snake bedding?! But if so how could it have escaped from a locked vivarium?

Please stop me from ripping up all the carpets and tell me it was a random one that has come in on a shoe or something? Envy NOT ENVY.

We move in two weeks, so I won’t really have to burn the place down will I? I need a lie down. And a gin.

I'd rather a maggot in the house than a snake but hey ho each to their own!Grin
I would have thought it's a moth larvae in the carpet? Expect there's some product eco-friendly that you could use, hope you enjoy the gin!

I’m well aware of what it is. I wrote it in the title. Thanks for taking the time to write a reply though!

He only has his bed in there, which is open underneath for storage, and a kalax unit. Should I lift it? We fed the snake on Tuesday and took the mouse out on Thursday after he hadn’t eaten it, he’s shedding, I’m wondering if it’s from there.

I found about a dozen maggots once In a forgotten ham sandwich in a sandwich bag. I had the phone tucked under my ear talking to a friend. He said all he heard was a scream and me yelling "MAGGOTS!!" very loudly and then the phone went dead as it hit the floor!

He’s a corn snake, the red/orange coloured one.

He’s so lovely and timid, it’s like having a little scaly dog. My husband is terrified of him Grin

There is a type of moth larvae that looks very similar to a maggot.

I’d burn the place down for having as
snake! I’m petrified of them, even pictures make feel ill. We had maggots law summer as a flu must have got into our bin, boak!

It might be carpet moth larvae. They look like maggots and crawl from the carpet up the walls, turn in to small moths on the ceiling, then lay eggs again in the carpet. Took two bugs bombs 7 days apart and a hot carpet clean to break the cycle for us. Moth sprays did nothing to stop them.
You will soon know if it's carpet moth.
