Pls recommend a UK summer holiday for 5 ppl inc a baby and 2 teens

We're struggling for ideas and dh is useless at suggesting anywhere. We don't want to spend more than 800 poss 1000 for a week. Kids like centerparcs but it's too expensive. Also like walking in country / cycling/ swimming/ visits to a town or city. No more than 5 hours from Leeds. Please give us any suggestions of where to stay etc. Thanks

North yorks! We love the Dales, Ingleton, the proximity to the lakes. Get a cottage with a fire and pack wellies and bikes and explore like tourists would. The Foss way, the pubs, the open country side....

Or go to the coast, Saltburn. Redcar is beautiful.

We've booked our last few in Tenby for a lot less than the site were charging, and caravan accommodation is really well suited to families.

Oh no not Tenby! I went as a teen and it was the worst most boring holiday of my life!

I’m afraid £800 won’t get you much for a week in the summer holidays. However, it’s worth knowing that lots of youth hostels are now very family friendly (some are better than others). The one in Whitby has family rooms with more than enough space for a cot (which they can provide), a well equipped playroom, an enclosed garden, games room and a restaurant. Whitby has a surf school that might interest your teenagers (who could have their own room in the hostel because there are some smaller rooms too).

Thanks. I'll check out redcar and tenby. Youth hostels sound good but they also can be pricey for a family room. I want to find somewhere that's good value for money as dh really wants to go abroad and insists it'll be cheaper ( minus the flights. ) I really don't want to go abroad due to a combination of brexit and baby plus I hate flying....

Any more suggestions?
