What's your best recipe for sweet waffles? I never seem to get them quite right.

I use this one, can be used to make sweet or savoury, it’s never let me down.

Will try that one, thank you! Mine always just taste of nothing!

I make these waffles

Make them in the morning and add baking powder as per the tip in the introduction. I don't add maple syrup as not keen on the flavour in the waffles.

Never tried them with yeast so I'll give that a go too!

I second the Jamie Oliver brilliant breakfast waffles! We’ve been using this recipe for 2 years, never gone wrong Smile

We like liege waffles best

Pearl sugar is impossible to track down but crushed sugar cubes work well. Also the batch is huge, but if you place individual waffles in sandwich bags they freeze amazingly and can be done from frozen in the toaster. They taste as good as from fresh which is dangerous, too easy to eat them all the time Blush

Thecatisboss · 02/02/2019 07:58

I've bought pearl sugar from ocado @Piggyhoolier

Piggyhoolier · 02/02/2019 08:06

@thecatisboss ooh thanks for the tip off, didn’t know they stocked it so that made my morning...til I remembered that they don’t deliver to my area. Insert daily mail sad face here Wink

Right I’m off to park run to burn some calories to justify the wafffles that this thread has made me desperate for

oreosoreosoreos · 02/02/2019 08:08

I know it's not what you asked for, but I made waffles last week with left over mash and slow-cooker ham, they were amazing!

HarrySnotter · 02/02/2019 08:09

Those Brussels waffles look perfect for DS! He loves them but I've never perfected them at home.

I accidentally ordered 4 boxes of pearl sugar last time I attempted leige waffles. Thanks for that receipe, I’m going to give it another go

Very tasty - not hugely sweet but just right for putting ice cream on.

Don’t DO NOT buy the fancy tub of waffle mix from M&S (not their brand). It is hideously salty!

Anyone else have plates get less non stick over time? Mine weld the mix to them these days.

I’ll need to dig out my recipe - I’ve not made any for a while mmmmmmm
