Lump in breast

I’m not sure where to post so thought I’d start here. Last week I found a lump in my right breast more towards the armpit.

I had a routine mammogram in September as I had just turned 50. Everything came back as clear.

Last weekend sitting on the sofa I went to scratch myself and felt a lump. It was slightly tender although now there is no pain. I know I need to make an appt to see my gp and I will do but I have a phobia about doctors.

I’m not really sure what I’m asking other than if there was anything to worry about would it have shown up on the mammogram?

Please be gentle re seeing a dr.

The fact it is tender could point toward a cyst or an inflamed lymph node. One is harmless one is not. I don't know if anything could have grown since your mammogram and neither can you. I don't want to be mean but if you managed a mammogram in September you can do.it again. If you went to the doctor they would have a look and feel an refer you. Would taking someone with your help?

Well it's reassuring you had a recent mammogram and all was clear.
If I were you, I would still get it checked out. It could be something simple like a cyst that needs treatment but it's important to go to your doctor and have it checked.
Chances are, you will be sent for another scan or an ultrasound.
The best of luck

Thank you resting. It took me a while to manage going for the mammogram. I will make an appt next week. I just wondered if something could have happened in the span of 4 months!
