Printaaaaaaaaaargh!

Please can someone advise me of a printer to buy that will accept generic ink cartridges? HP have 'bricked' my printer so that it won't print without their hideously expensive own-brand ink and I am bloody annoyed about it.

Thanks in advance.

I get my ink cartridges from here!

We have a Canon and buy from CartridgeSave. They guarantee that their compatible inks won't invalidate your printer warranty. We've used them for ages and never had a problem.

I do the hp insta ink and pay £7.99 per month for 300 pages.. I think this is not a bad deal as I was paying more with cheap cartridges. It is £3 I think per month for £100 pages —- might be worth it depending how much you print.

We have an Epson and use generic ones.
They're so much cheaper that even if we only got through two lots before it spoilt the printer, we'd be quids in.
We're on our 4th lot.

Thanks everyone. HP Insta Ink looks OK but my printer is too old for this serviceSad I might consider getting a more UTD HP model for this and seeing if I can use the 15 pages a month free service (is it really free?)

HP's conduct may be objectionable, but other manufacturers do this too, don't they?

I have an Epson and have been using ebay cartridges for two years. It's fine. Had to get rid of the HP I had before for the same reason

My Canon uses these chipped cartridges. I get mine from our local "Ink Shop", they are refills and work just fine.
My printer is more than three years old, so no warranty problems.
