Center parcs and the snow

Am sat reading CP Facebook page and it's like one of those trip advisor crazy comment threads.

Longleat had to close today due to snow. Those there can stay till Monday, those arriving cannot get in but can rearrange. Disappointing yes, but these things happen.

We have comments ranging from complaining about being stuck in, complaining about not getting in, complaining it didn't snow last week, or hoping it might snow next week. Random comments like oh, I'm going in April. Someone complaining they arrived and were given access to facilities which included a bar and now they cannot drive. Hmm

People asking if it's every CP?? People complaining there's not enough staff to open everything. People having a go at these stuck for stealing their holidays. Dramatic details of why people couldn't leave or had to go this weekend or not at all. Someone suggesting things could be worse, they could be starving in Africa, people there don't get snow...someone complaining the tv only has six channels and the kids are bored,

I am swaying from disbelief to amusement and yes some jealousy, would love a snow day there.

I do also feel sorry for those missing their holiday but it's the comments not the situation that have amused me. There's just no pleasing anyone really?!

Oh please can we have a link? This sounds hilarious!

Overseasmom100 · 01/02/2019 22:24

Me too have been reading it all. CPs did this as a last resort

DownWentTheFlag · 01/02/2019 22:27

I imagine the staff at head office have had quite the day!

homemadegin · 01/02/2019 22:28

Oh I'm sorry, I am so rubbish at links. It's center parcs UK Facebook. They post updates and then it's the comments below. One has over a thousand comments, many with nothing to do with the snow....

Yes bet they are fed up....some couldnt get into work. Guests leaving today could get their cars out. Some very unreasonable people posting

Overseasmom100 · 01/02/2019 22:29

Opps couldnt get their cars out

homemadegin · 01/02/2019 22:31

God yes I feel really sorry for the staff today. Must be a total nightmare to coordinate that.

I’ve been reading it too. Some reasonable complaints, but some others are just very strange.

I feel sorry for them, but CP seems to be busy most of the time so they can’t expect to be rebooked onto another weekend straight away/school holidays. I’m sure a middle ground could be found.

I don’t get why people are still turning up though, even after they’ve said they were told about the closure.

bluebump · 01/02/2019 22:32

I’ve been reading these too today on Facebook and Twitter. I’m loving all of the photos of Longleat in the snow, I loved it there and would love to be snowed in there. Peoples comments though, poor customer services!

homemadegin · 01/02/2019 22:35

Yes some totally reasonable, but some are just ridiculous. Some people now seem to have been let in and have got to lodges to find other people still there.
