Please will somebody tell me I’m worrying unnecessarily?
Around lunchtime today, I rang my pension provider to change the amount I pay in monthly.
The phone kept on ringing until switchboard stepped in.
The lady on the switchboard asked my reason for ringing so I explained so she could put me through to the correct dept. She said she thought the dept had closed for the day, but just to check, she asked me what my plan number was.
I gave it to her, she tapped away at something, then confirmed the dept was closed for the rest of the day.
It was only when I put the phone down that I thought it was odd asking my plan number just to confirm the dept was closed?
Now I’m panicking, thinking I shouldn’t have given her my plan number.
Please help. Have I done something stupid?
