My friend was over last night and we got talking about our weight and measurements as she's starting a new diet.
She started reeling off her measurements and I was amazed as I was exactly the same , hips, waist, arms, thighs etc.
But the weird thing is she weighs almost two stone heavier than me!
She is only an inch and half taller than me so not a huge amount. And as she put it herself 'you look smaller than me though!' My frame does seem smaller somehow.
So how can we measure the same over most of our body but she weighs more than me?
It baffled us both. Am I being dense and there's a simple explanation 😂
Any clues?

Maybe she really needed a wee when getting weighed. 😂

MyDisposableUsername · 01/02/2019 04:41

Maybe she's BS'ing about her measurements?

PeanutButterLips · 01/02/2019 04:44

Had them all wrote (written?) down as she has a consultant for her new diet.

Her body composition is different to yours, with more muscle mass, which is more dense than fat.

You probably have a higher body fat percentage than she does (sorry).

Weight on it's own is a poor indicator of dieting success or health. Body fat percentage and waist to height ratio much more useful.

Yes I do agree I have a higher body fat than her.
When I mentioned maybe she has more muscle she didn't think she has. She used to be a regular at gym but doesn't go now.

That's why the ideal weight for each height has such a large range. We all carry weight differently.

It's also one of the reasons why weight isn't an indication of health or body fat ect.

Maybe she pulls the tape measure really tight!
