SO ANNOYING. DP and times.

DP often works late. Fine. He's a tradesman so sometimes work needs done outside of working hours.

Said he would be home by 5 30. Called him at 5.25 and asked how long he would be. He said another 45 minutes. It's now been an hour and five minutes and no sign.

Dinner has shrivelled up so I've added more water but now it's runny and weird.

WHY CAN HE NOT JUST SAY OH I'LL BE AGES and then I wouldn't have bloody put supper on.

He does this ALL THE TIME. Or says he'll be half an hour so I'll get ready and then sit with my hair and make up done for three hours in the living room.

ARGH is he just incapable of timing a job or is he just an irritating buffon.

Rant over. Anyone else's DP do this??

Yes mine does this. He says he does it just to shut me up but why not just tell me the actual time to shut me up.

Eat your dinner at the time he said he will be home and let him have his in whatever state it is by the time he gets in.

My DH used to do this; we resolved it by me asking him to over exaggerate how long something will take and then if it runs late he’s still within time and if not it’s a bonus.
Also I put his dinner in the microwave if he’s late and he doesn’t dare complain

My DH does this too. I lie and tell him we need to be places earlier and I eat dinner when it is ready. If his is ruined that’s his shout.

Dp used to do this before going on nights. I'd cook for whatever time I wanted my dinner and then he would warm his up when he came in.
