16 week old having short naps and cries/screams when being put down to sleep

Hi all, I am soooo eager for an advise please!! Until two weeks ago or so i has no issues with my boy’s sleep, but it has all changed: cat napping all day (4-5 30min or so naps), cries every time when being put down to sleep, night time takes longest 30min or so for him to fall asleep screaming 😔😔😔😔😔 I have to feed him about 3-4 times during the night and I guess this is down to short napping??? How can I improve this, as all books and magazines say he should be able to go approx 8 hours until 1st feed at night. I really need some advise how to sort this out please please please

I'm in a similar boat OP! My 17 week old is going through something very similar. I keep being told it's the 4 month sleep regression. I know it's rubbish for us, but great for the baby's development. Just got to keep telling ourselves that this too shall pass.

I'm no expert but could be 4 month sleep regression. There's loads of info online but basically you DS's sleep will be changing from new born sleep (lots of little burst) to normal sleep (sleep cycles with lighter periods and deeper sleep). He'll be learning to fall back to sleep when he lightly wake up. Have a look on Google though, will explain it much better.

SheDancesOnTheSand this is reassuring to hear and I am also hoping this is a regression which will pass shortly 🤞🤞terrible times though 😔😔

EditaB have you heard of the wonder weeks? It's a great app that charts all of these sorts of things. There is even a weather chart to highlight when your LO may be a bit stormy! It works on your due date and I've found it to be fairly accurate!

There's also suggestions on how to help them through each leap as they take on so much.

SheDancesOnTheSand Have just checked the app and it is spot on with storm highlighted this and couple of other weeks. Will check for suggestions how to deal with it. Thanks you 👍
