Tapping to help with a fear/phobia?

Has anyone tried this?

I have a new job. I absolutely love it but there is one aspect of it that I am afraid of.
It is akin to having a job in the spider house at the zoo but being uncomfortable holding the spiders which I sometimes have to do. I know that they will not harm me and in theory I have no problem with letting the little critters crawl on my hands but when it comes to it my heart races and my hands shake.
Unless I can overcome this fear I will not have this job that I love so I have been googling methods of overcoming fears. I came across this video of a guy . So I'm giving it a go.

I will try (almost) anything because I really really want this job to be a success and am so annoyed at (what I assume is) my subconscious fear.

I’ve tried it for fear of flying.
