Tell me about socks! Bamboo or cashmere for sensitive feet?

My feet are super sensitive at the moment (chemo) and I'm finding my normal socks too rough and almost painful.

Anyone got any recommendations as to which ones would be more comfortable?

I Adore my bamboo socks. They are so snuggly. I would recommend them.

Bamboo socks are amazing. Very soft. Warm/cool according to weather.

Cashmere socks wear through in about 5 mins. That was an expensive mistake.

WinterHeatWave · 31/01/2019 15:01

I like my bamboo socks. I've got some of these which are lovely and soft, and also some with pictures on them, which are thicker and not as soft.
I didn't like the cashmere ones I nicked off Mum after she shrunk them! But these were thick and hairy. Suggest going for smooth ones if you go on this route.
I hope you, and your feet, feel better soon Flowers

Bamboo! Sea salt do boxes of them. Or Braintree do them too. Seasalts more recent ones are thinner than the old ones and Braintree's. I find them less sweaty.
All the best for your chemo

I like bamboo socks, but don't find them warm (I have issues with keeping warm) and do find that they wear through on the toes quickly. That said, I have very 'mobile' big toes which move when walking an awful lot more than most people's and I do tend to go through the toes of socks very quickly.

Bamboo socks all the way.

I get mine from BAM - they are great. Last forever too.

Bamboo seems to be the winner here! Damn, I was in a Seasalt concession earlier but didn't think to ask...

Between any wool and bamboo, I would choose Bamboo. I find wool next to my skin is itchy. Any wool whatsoever for socks I find really unpleasant. I have no problem with bamboo.
Just to mix things up a bit, have you thought of silk? I did have some silk socks that I used as liners ages ago because all walking socks came in wool then.

Good luck finding some comfy socks.

I bought some bamboo socks from tk max a while back and I love them. So soft and comfortable. I think the brand is called 'sockshop'. They were only about 5 pounds too

Boots do good value 3 packs of bamboo socks. Not quite as soft as the premium brands but maybe worth a try.

PickAChew · 31/01/2019 16:44

Cashmere felts easily so doesn't stand up well to being socks. Bamboo is lovely but I find that it rides down in my boots, which can be annoying.

ElleMcFearsome · 31/01/2019 16:45

Another vote for BAM who sent me a freebie Grin and have ensured that I am a returning customer, they're fab!

Have you tried Merino wool socks? Super soft and toastie warm.

Or I get my bamboo ones here arnoldleathergoods.co.uk/product-category/bamboo-socks-for-men-and-women/womens-bamboo-socks/
