Does everyone actually send their old one back cut up when they get a new one? Are you meant to send it tracked delivery? What happenens if they say they never got it?

No, why do they need it back?

PinkGin24 · 31/01/2019 13:34

They ask for it back when you apply and you have to tick to agree that you will.

No, never bothered sending mine back.

I think I read somewhere it is a legal thing but never heard it to be enforced. I sent h’s back - it’s hardly difficult to cut in half and stick in an envelope. Why would you need the old one anyway? It only adds to clutter.

PinkGin24 · 31/01/2019 15:00

MrsPear I don't need it, but I also dpn't wanr to pay for it to be send back tracked. Hence asking what happens if it goes missing in the post?

I recently changed mine (and DH).

Just cut them in half and stuck them in the regular mail - no recorded delivery or anything. I guess most must make it though.

@PinkGin24, just get a proof of postage certificate from post office (costs nothing) then, if it doesn’t arrive, you have proof you sent it to them. That’s what I’m going to do with mine - which I need to send back as new one arrived a few weeks ago!!

IroningMan · 31/01/2019 16:49

I cut mine up for security and mailed it regular mail. I got proof of posting from post office so if they ever asked I had it. They never asked.

DappledThings · 31/01/2019 16:56

I just sent it in a normal envelope, no proof of posting or anything.

GinTimeAtHome · 31/01/2019 18:04

I sent mine back once and they took some categories off me...

Luckily work wanted a copy of my driving licence every 6 months (photo copies) and I had the emails, after a bit of a fight I got all my categories back!!

Now I have a copy of it phone in case it ever happens again.
