Question about The Chase quiz show

Me & OH love The Chase and watch it when ever we can but now have a query.

When they are playing the against the chaser for the money, once Brad asks the question, I thought there was a set time to be answered, as he sometimes says "I need an answer".

However OH reckons the timing doesn't start until the first answer is given, hence the pressure press.

Does anyone know please, and does this even make sense!

It always looks a fun show to be on.
I like the out-take programme - me & DH crack up laughing, even when we watched it a second time!

Are you there for a whole day and do they feed you? How are the teams made up, just names picked out of a hat (well a bit more sophisticated than that!). And I suppose they do your hair and make up?

You’re there most of the day - depends on when your show is scheduled.

They film 3 a day and you’re there around 5/6 hours. They collect you from the station and drop you back again and book all your travel.

They do all the work on the team themselves but I get the impression they’re trying for a variety of ages and occupations so there’s a breadth of knowledge - we were a student, travel agent, accountant and social media manager and ranged from early 20s to 50s.

There’s a constant stream of junk food for snacking and then they give you a meal which for us was sandwiches at lunchtime.

Runners are with you all the time - they’re fun and energetic and know exactly what’s going on.

They ask you to come styled and they touch you up - the instructions say do your makeup like you’re going out for the evening so I looked quite the sight first thing in the morning.

I’m going to apply for more - it was so much fun. They kept saying we were a really nice team - I’m sure they say that to everyone but - but we were - we cheered each other, jumped up and down etc - we really got into it.

In the final chase even with 4 players they have to buzz to answer which uses up time....times that by 20 questions.......the chasers just answer...Totally a con.....

Used to love the chase......but it is so loaded for the chasers to win....look how much time they have in the final chase
