Wearing layers and jumoer etc. Got wool blanket over me. Heating on. Freezing!
Are you still cold?

Heating been on all day. Now the log burner too. Plus sheepskin slippers.

anniehm · 30/01/2019 22:14

Freezing here, considering putting the heating on overnight, but I tend to overheat as our room is the one with insulation and I'm peri menopausal! The dog seems cold too - unusual as he's a hardy type.

Justtheoneplease · 30/01/2019 22:19

Bloody freezing here, no heating as boiler has died and needs replacing and no idea how to afford it 😢😢😢 roll on the summer

LittleDoritt · 30/01/2019 22:23

I hate being too warm in bed so I'm nicely slightly chilly right now. I was freeing sitting downstairs earlier though - I had to do a frenzied hoovering session to warm through Grin

nicoala1 · 30/01/2019 22:28

Why do people have this thing about wanting to get warm, yet not clamouring for a relatively easy and economical solution.

Just get a heated throw and an electric blanket folks.

Drogosnextwife · 30/01/2019 22:28

I might invest in an electric blanket. My feet are always cold.
You can get mini ones for just your feet at the bottom of your bed, so someone on here told me.

I can never get the poor people sleeping on the streets out of my head when it's this cold!

nicoala1 · 30/01/2019 22:33

Spirit of the Blitz again.

Honestly, for a small investment you will all be warm. But I am getting the feeling that being cold is something to complain about without sorting it out economically and simply.

Fluffyears · 30/01/2019 22:46

I love my heated throw it’s a game changer as I have poor circulation. Drogos I saw achap sleeping on a main Glasgow Street tonight under a duvet. I felt so sorry for him.

mytime2 · 30/01/2019 22:52

I actually have the air conditioning on Blush (new build apartment). It was 21.5C in the bedroom, too hot for overnight so have put the air-con on set for 19C.

UnexpectedPigeon · 30/01/2019 22:58

Fluffyears and anyone else who has seen homeless sleepers in this weather, have a look at this link..

www.streetlink.org.uk/
You can report people sleeping homeless in freezing weather to this charity who will try to find them somewhere warm to spend the night. A literal life saver in this weather. Flowers

PhilomenaButterfly · 30/01/2019 23:00

No. Heating on, in bed with t-shirt, pants and socks on.

Ollivander84 · 30/01/2019 23:02

@Lwmommy that's my nans trick too! Drink a brew while your feet are soaking and you start to sweat Grin last time I did it I had to open all the windows

megletthesecond · 30/01/2019 23:03

DD is sleeping in my bed and she's a human radiator, she's only in thin pj's and I'm in two layers of pj's. Heating is on too.

TillyTheTiger · 30/01/2019 23:04

I was cold until toddler DS woke up and got in bed with me. He's like a snuggly toasty wriggly hot water bottle

Drogosnextwife · 30/01/2019 23:09

@Fluffyears I'm not far from Glasgow, I'm there quite a lot. Have noticed more cry young people in the last few years. Its very sad.

Asta19 · 30/01/2019 23:10

In bed with windows wide open, no heater, just wearing a vest top and still sweating. Apparently it’s minus 2 outside, and I’m still too hot. Thanks night sweats Hmm

Drogosnextwife · 30/01/2019 23:10

@UnexpectedPigeon

Thanks for the link, I'll save that.

Drogosnextwife · 30/01/2019 23:12

Its just for England and Wales, I'm in Scotland. Sure there will be one here too.

TheQueef · 30/01/2019 23:16

I'm another electric blanket user.
I huddle down and just light the fire downstairs for an hour.
Feels frivolous and indulgent just for me and the cats.

Fusioluxe · 30/01/2019 23:18

DS and I came in from the park and made a tent in the bed. Our breath warmed us up until the portable heater kicked in and DH came home to run the bath 😁

DameSquashalot · 30/01/2019 23:21

We're in a new build (frowned upon, I know) The heating is off, we're lovely and toasty. Even had the window open earlier because we've got washing hanging up.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 30/01/2019 23:28

My electric blanket is on, s’lovely! Why oh why did I not know about these things thirty years ago when we were poor and struggling to keep warm?

bibbitybobbityyhat · 30/01/2019 23:29

When I'm cold during the day, I stick a pair of marigolds on and do the washing up the old fashioned way. Have the water really hot.

Fluffyears · 30/01/2019 23:34

@unexpectedpigeon not much use to me as it’s England and Wales only unfortunately and i’m in Scotland. drogos it’s becoming much more common but some of them are conmen/women so I tend to give food/drinks more than money. One young guy used to sit outside central station in a thin t shirt with no shoes on shaking with the cold ‘aye pal your feet are spotless and I see your girlfriend come over after rush hour to give you shoes and a jacket’
