A fantasy day (within school hours)

Dh will be away with work for the a week and I'm fantasising about taking a day off work while he's away.
I probably won't as it'll be needed for childcare over the holidays.

I'll get up early and meditate.
Drop the kids off at school and spend the day at a localish castle or ruins, or maybe have a horse riding lesson and a nice lunch at a museum cafe.
After school I'd take the kids to the cinema or have an impromptu walk in the country with a flask of hot chocolate (maybe if it was April!).

What do you you fantasise about doing within a limited time frame?

Or I can could go swimming or go to a pilates class!
Or drive to the nearest debenhams that does personal shopping and get style ideas.
Or get hair suggestions after a proper discussion.

I’d do a gym class, go and get my hair/nails/eyebrows sorted. Lunch with a good book or with friends out. Definitely a couple of glasses of wine, then meander home in time for pick up

Change the bed & set out clean pjs for the night
Massage, facial, brows and nails done
Lovely lunch with a good book
Mooch around the local charity shops
Pick up something nice for tea and a bottle of wine
Home in time for DS getting in

Get back from school run and put pjs back on.
Get into bed with brew, packet of Jaffa cakes and binge watch a series in Netflix until home time.

Oh yes, nails are a good one!

I could start by going to the Posh Cafe (in a former stately home dontcha know) after school drop off for pastries and a hot chocolate!

Or a crafty class, such as enamelling or pottery.

It'll be frowned on as clearly very stupid but I could go for a reading Hmm at myself!

After drop off, I would come home, run a hot bubble bath. While it's running I would drink a hot coffee and go on MN.
After my bath I would put on my pyjamas. Curl up on the sofa with pillows and duvet.
I would lie there day dreaming until I fell asleep.
I would wake up naturally feeling refreshed, read the book I've been meaning to start for weeks now, which of course would turn out to be the best thing I've ever read, whilst drinking a Mocha and eating fruit and leftover Xmas chocolates until it was time for pick up

Nobody would ring me or want anything from me or knock on the door all day
Rest, recuperation, bliss.

If I wasn't pregnant then I'd venture out I'm sure but I'm exhausted at the moment so I'd enjoy the peace!

^ I like Bumblebee’s suggestion!!

I’ve got a day off next week (I’m a SAHM, so it’s probably a once a year thing haha). DC1 will be at school and I’ve booked a babysitter for DC2. I’m so excited. I think I’m going to go to Hampton Court Palace and then afternoon tea and maybe a manicure. All by my very own self. I’m so so excited!!

You have inspired me to maybe take some time for myself when the dc go back to school next week after their long summer holiday (7 weeks!!). Just thinking what I'd do, maybe go the local thermal spa overlooking the ocean and just sit and relax for a bit, then take a good book to a lovely cafe (assuming there is not a cruise ship in as it gets crazy busy). If it's too crowded there I might head for a long walk along the waterfront and then to a lovely cafe with amazing views and yummy food that I keep meaning to go to without kids and haven't got round to yet... Quite excited at prospect now 😀
