Shepherds Bush/Hammersmith/Ravenscourt Park restaurants - any locals?

Does anyone have any recommendations for restaurants in Shepherds Bush? Or Ravenscourt Park/Hammersmith? Somewhere with good food and a great atmosphere?

It's DS's (19) birthday and we are planning a family lunch to celebrate. It's on a Sunday and we're not planning a light lunch! Especially as he's going out to an event with friends after that will probably involve a drink or five...

The event is in Shepherds Bush but we are picking him up at his girlfriend's house in Ravenscourt Park so we could go for lunch nearby. My back up idea is the River Cafe.

The Crabtree (next to The River Cafe) is lovely, and my favourite restaurant in London, Roxie, is on Fulham High Street if you can go that far?

I like Thai 101 - it’s not flash but it’s really tasty & I think you would have fun SmileSmile

Thanks!

The Crabtree is DS's local! It would be nice to go somewhere new but it would have the advantage of him being able to roll out of bed nursing a birthday drinks hangover and head to lunch.

The Roxie looks lovely but maybe just that bit too far. I shall bear it mind for another occasion (with or without DS Grin) We're a bit tight on time because of DS needing to get to Shepherds Bush.

Another good suggestion... Thai 101 is a already a favourite! DS took us there when his DGM came to visit. It looks like DS has already found all the best spots!

Mahdi on King Street.

Amazing Iranian food, great atmosphere, and insane decor to keep you interested.
