Bank recommendations please

After absolutely useless customer service yesterday from my bank I have decided, after 30 years as a customer, to switch our joint account.

Don’t need internet banking, thinking of nationwide as it’s the only bank/building society still open in our village.

Any recommendations?

We're with nationwide. Not had any issues tbh. We switched from Natwest as there are only about 2 branches in Scotland and none are near us

I I've found Nationwide good.
If you want to DM me, I've got a code where, you open an account and you get £100, and I get £100 for referring you.

Nationwide were fine for me, think I even got free travel insurance with them at one point. I'm currently with M&S who have fabulous customer service and good points deals if you are an M&S shopper. I went with them because we have an M&S nearby which is open until 9 and on weekends, whereas any branches in town have odd opening times and no nearby parking spaces.

Starling- it's wonderful. Instant updates on Apple Watch at the time of the transaction

Nationwide haven't done anything to upset me in 30 years of banking with them.
But I'm the most boring customer ever.

First Direct. Customer service is fantastic, internet banking uncomplicated (if you decided to use it) and it's easily contactable via telephone 24/7 with extremely helpful and kind staff.

We changed to nationwide last year and I have to say i’m Very impressed. The app is great and we each got £100 bonus and another £150 cash back for keeping our mortgage with them (our fixed rate is 2.9%).

Thank you all for your replies, much appreciated.

I think I’ll go with nationwide - I like to go into a branch when needed and I already have a (pitifully small Grin) savings account with them.

Evidence - I’ll pm you, thanks. Can’t do anything for a couple of weeks though.
