Calling nurses

DH has just been in hospital for an op and has had wonderful care from the ward staff. He wants to give them something to say thank you, particularly his named nurse. What would they/she most appreciate? (as well as a note to PALS in praise)

A letter with their name on, giving details of why they were good - they can use these for revalidation!

Definitely a named card that can be used as evidence for revaluation. Nice pens always go down well. One family gave me an Iris to grow in a pot, flowers have gone but still have the pot.

If he wants a general present for the ward staff, some nice tea bags/coffee would be most welcome. (DD is a nurse - there is never enough tea or coffee!!)

Definitely a nice card or letter for bloody revalidation. PALS is a great idea, maybe send one to the Chief Exec too. Handcream is a nice gift for his named nurse - our hands are usually in a shocking state thanks to alcohol hand gel and hibiscrub. We had a patient in recently who owned a green grocers - our ICU got a giant basket of really lovely fruit when he was discharged. That was really nice.

I’m so glad your DH got great care Smile
