I think number 1 was staffies. I was on here but had TV on in the background

OldGreyBoots · 30/01/2019 05:57

Cockapoos at 2, staffies at 1 Smile

How can there be a better dog than a springer?

Labs were 3rd, springers 4th and cockers 5th. My springer is the best obviously

prampushingdownthehighst · 30/01/2019 07:02

Exactly! Ladymargarethall*

FFSOMG · 30/01/2019 07:39

I have a working cocker, he’s also the best dog ever Grin

Does anyone know if bearded collies made the list?

MiceSqueakCatsMeow · 30/01/2019 07:56

I agree. Springers are the best. My one brings me a dirty sock each morning when I wake up. He's the light of my life, not just because of the dirty sock!

nevernotstruggling · 30/01/2019 07:57

Was it the same programme as last year with the cyclist and the visla?

fleshmarketclose · 30/01/2019 08:03

List here

tenbob · 30/01/2019 08:06

It was a big warm hug of a programme

So many good dogs and lovely people going totally misty eyed when talking about how much they love their dogs

TenDog (Lab) says that she doesn’t mind being bumped to 3rd place this year if it means Staffies win

OldGreyBoots · 30/01/2019 09:55

nevernotstruggling Updated for 2019 so not the exact same show but pretty close!

CromeYello · 30/01/2019 10:11

Beardie not in the top 100 Sad

HelpMeAdult · 30/01/2019 11:07

It was a lovely program, made my eyes leak more than once.
However. I'm not sure how I feel about it really. Especially with staffies coming out as top dog. Staffies are wonderful dogs but unfortunately have a bad rep. Dogs homes are full of them and I think raising their popularity and making them more desirable is a bad idea. Most people who will want the new 'it' dog will not rescue.
I am owned by a dog breed that recently had a huge 'cool' surge and unfortunately shelters are now filling up with this wonderful breed, greeders are over breeding and exaggerating breed specifics, resulting in unhealthy dogs.
Everyone thinks their dog is the best so it should be left at that Imo

tenbob · 30/01/2019 14:03

@CromeYello

The beadie was 67th

CatnissEverdene · 30/01/2019 14:28

We've got a sprocker and a working cocker. How dare people not vote them No 1 Grin

I found the staffies bit a bit upsetting tbh, when so many dog homes are full of them Sad. I hope it was a deliberate effort to improve their popularity.

How can there be a better dog than a springer?

There isn't! We have a Welsh Springer (and a twat Cockapoo we won't talk about because he's a disgrace). I love her and til I met her had no idea of the entirely gorgeous ways of the Spaniel, but I'd never be without one now.

MaMaMaMySharona · 30/01/2019 14:30

@HelpMeAdult I see your point completely, but at the same time those would do choose rescue may be more inclined to consider a staffy if their profiles have been raised.

I recently rescued a dog - went to the home twice to visit different staffies and both times they found homes before I got there! Hopefully this is a good sign Smile
