Can you eat too much salad or veg?

I am trying to lose some weight but keeping it simple. I'm not good at keeping to a specific diet or counting calories.

I'm running every night and a doing a couple of gym classes each week.

Food wise I am not snacking and eating a healthy breakfast lunch and tea.

My question is, can you eat too much salad or veg?

Say I had a chicken wrap for lunch, can I pile a huge portion of salad on the side? (Lettuce tomato cucumber radishes sweet corn carrot red cabbage)

Or for dinner I had a fish fillet, can I put as much veg on the side as I want? (Peas broccoli carrots cauliflower)

Or will the huge portions affect how quickly I can lose weight?

I'm just absolutely starving between meals but rather than snack I'd rather fill up on more salad or veg but I'm wondering if having a huge portion will defeat the object even if it is good stuff?

No. You can eat as much of that as you wish. Don't drown it in dressing/gravy though!

Never have dressings, just a little salt and pepper Smile

It’s possible to eat ‘too many’ carrots, though, Op! If you notice you’ve turned orange, then knock off the carrots for a while. 😁
Seriously you are fine eating lots of veg and salad, as long as you can cope with the flatulence and the effects on your bowels (which should settle down when you are more used to your new eating patterns).

I do this too, not noticed any impact on weight loss. Only thing I’d say is I err on the side of green / leafy or Mediterranean veg over root vegetables.

I have vinegar (usually balsamic glaze). You might be interested in this guy's advice: www.drfuhrman.com he advocates having at least half (maybe more, can't remember now) of your plate full of greens.

Thanks guys!

Sounds sensible to me. It’s a great way to eat.

You’re less likely to snack if you really fill up on salad and veg.
