The sinner: minors in adult prison

Does the USA put minor in prison with adults? It’s made the plot of the series very thin for me.

From what I remember from previous studies it depends on the severity of the crime.

That’s awful. Not matter what a child has done incarcerating them with adults is simply wrong.

Julian is placed in a juvenile detention facility, they're pretty clear about that. He's 13 and with other under-18s even if they look older

I'm sure we've watched an American prison documentary, maybe Trevor MacDonald, and a minor was in an adults prison.
