Is this chicken undercooked?

I've never roasted chicken thighs before... are these undercooked.

Pick shows the top of one and the other is upside down, I've cut into it a bit to show you guys the colour.

Paranoid about poisoning everyone!

They've been on gas Mark 7 for a little over 35 minutes.

Is this chicken undercooked?

It's the pinky colour on the outside that's completely throwing me off 😩

Thigh meat is a dark colour though? Looks fine to me

Impicciona · 29/01/2019 17:31

Looks cooked to me! It's pink yes but it looks more like natural colouring of the muscle more than not cooked IYSWIM

Yes undercooked!

katienana · 29/01/2019 17:31

Looks ok to me are they piping hot inside?

confusedandemployed · 29/01/2019 17:32

That looks fine to me. As PP said, it's thigh meat so not meant to be white.

Bigonesmallone3 · 29/01/2019 17:32

I'd say under.. 🐔

sugarpuffss · 29/01/2019 17:32

I'd say that's cooked it looks too pink to be the undercooked sort of pink if that makes sense Confused like too dark in colour

DullPortraits · 29/01/2019 17:32

Thigh meat is a bit pinker than breast.. are the juices running clear? If its piping hot & clear juices then you will be fine but i would pop back in for another 5/10 mins if you are worried. Invest in a probe thermometer off amazon they are so good and reassuring x

Drogosnextwife · 29/01/2019 17:33

Lools cooked. Leg meat is sometimes a bit pinker.

HappilyNeverAfter1 · 29/01/2019 17:33

Oh god, some people aren't convinced! They've been on the top shelf so I find it hard to believe they're not cooked and the pink colour is on the outside of the meat which you'd imagine would cook the fastest.

IHaveBrilloHair · 29/01/2019 17:33

Thigh meat is that colour when cooked.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 29/01/2019 17:36

That's cooked thigh meat, it's darker and pinker than breast. It's definitely cooked.

GallicosCats · 29/01/2019 17:36

Is the meat clinging tight to the joint (the cartilage/gristly part) or is it falling off? If the latter, and there's no liquid (pink or clear) coming out, and it's piping hot inside, then it's probably done. If in doubt, put it back in the oven. It won't hurt.

CocoDeMoll · 29/01/2019 17:37

It looks ok. Thigh meat is usually dark.

HappilyNeverAfter1 · 29/01/2019 17:39

It feels fairly tight to the bone but I touched in near the bone and basically burnt my finger!

Oh well, it's eaten now 😆

For future you could get yourself
A digital food thermometer. Takes the guesswork out of it. Chicken needs to be 80 degrees Celsius all the way through. Use mine all the time (hubby paranoid about stuff like this!).

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 29/01/2019 19:18

Chicken thighs are that colour! Too late now anyway OPGrin
