Do I go back to work tomorrow?

About 2 weeks ago I started feeling ill - normal virus doing the rounds everyone has had it. (I have an office job with paid sick leave but still subject to Bradford scoring).

Last week I felt rubbish but went to work Monday and Tuesday. By Wednesday I had a temperature. I have asthma and my peak flow dropped low so saw my GP who gave me steroids. I had Wednesday and Thursday off and I just slept. Steroids are notorious for giving you false energy and I felt better Friday so stupidly went back to work.

Saturday I had loads of things to do, and got stuck into doing things in the house. By Saturday evening I felt even worse than originally, didn’t sleep at all, couldnt breathe and ended up calling 111, saw OOH GP Sunday morning and have an infection in one lung.

I am now on day 3 of antibiotics and the temperature has gone etc. I’m mostly just really tired and out of breath (with my one yukky lung).

I feel like I am taking the piss by not being at work though because now it’s been 4 days total. I think I could sit at a desk and can potter about the house but walking around makes me out of breath. I didn’t ask GP about time off work and I am unsure whether I am well enough, could do more damage than good in recovery. I’m too indecisive about whether to go back or not! WWYD with a chest infection?
