If you could buy any item of jewellery for £100 or less, what would it be and what size would you need/want?

Due to comments in other threads I'm toying with the idea of setting up a used jewellery business and need some ideas for buying stock.

Yes I will put up some photos this afternoon of my edwardian rings :-)

I'd love a piece of Suffragette jewellery - preferably a necklace as the earrings are always long ones and I only wear studs

Not sure you would get much for £100, certainly not my Grandmother's two 19th century diamond and platinum rings which I now wear. Check out this website: www.sellingantiques.co.uk/antique-jewellery/ which has 90 pages of antique jewellery, unfortunately all appear to be over £100.

Clearly the pieces with more weight/better quality stones are more expensive. However the mark up is partly dependent on business running costs.

Some antique vintage jewellery is costume but is still lovely.

I agree, it is lovely. I much prefer antique jewellery to modern, the designs are more unusual and the value doesn't plummet as soon as purchased like modern items.

EastMidsGPs I was looking for suffrogette jewellery for a friend who wanted to treat herself and found this website which may be of interest: www.laurelleantiquejewellery.com/antique-suffragette-jewellery
