DD8 and I are going to watch the Lion King on a week day. It's the matinee show. To avoid the rush hour, I thought we could eat dinner after the show. Please could you recommend a good restaurant/cafe close by?

The original plan is to go to Rainforest Cafe but if we are not up to the 15 minute walk from the theatre, I need to have a back up.

Thanks!

There’s a Bill’s just around the corner.

One Aldwych do a very cool themed children’s afternoon tea if you’re feeling fancy - I think it was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last time I was there.

Oh sorry, you wanted dinner not afternoon tea!

@MawkishTwaddle, thank you. I'll keep Bill's on mind. Shame its not afternoon tea, otherwise One Aldwych would have been a great idea.

Joe Allen has a great children’s menu for under 12s with a few non-alcoholic cocktails for just £2.50. Great service, really laid back, cheerful atmosphere and large portions of decent food. Honest Burger is also nearby and we always have a pleasant time. It also has a children’s menu, with a wordsearch for them to do!

Ooh I love Joe Allen!
